Friday seminar: 16/10/09
Today’s session was quite interesting. Our day started by splitting into groups of three and re-presenting our designs, displaying our mood board/s, logotypes, making them understanding the key element behind our design. After this short feedback session we further went on to make a few more changes to our designs. During the later half of the session, we sat with Stuart and Peter to gain more comments. They gave us some useful tips that I hadn’t even thought off until now i.e. to experiment with colours, textures, forms etc. I would definitely use these insights to build in a better design and satisfy the brief requirements.
QUESTIONS
What have you learnt from this session – to improve your idea development for this brief?
- The sessions, discussions and positive feedbacks from my tutors and peers in past few weeks have tremendously helped me to redefine my work. It has taught me to be more experimental and playful with my work. I have learnt how to make mind maps and sketch ideas to develop my thought process.
What have you learnt from this session – to apply to your MA research project?
- I really like the idea of group sessions. The whole process of researching, discussions, critical analysis and different interpretations of a similar concept is very intriguing. One of the key things that I have learnt in these sessions is that feedback is very important, be it positive or negative; it just helps your work in the longer run. Such as, feedbacks for my MA research project will help me develop my proposal and built it into a better final piece of work. I have also learnt to be playful and innovative with my work, which will definitely help me in my MA research project, as one really can’t be creative and unique in their work, if we aren't experimental!
